Spring 2016: Habits of a Sustainable Mind A sustainable campus is an equitable campus in terms of social, economic and environmental perspectives. This activity will engage and inform participants of campus and community sustainability opportunities. We will apply our Creating, Imagining and Innovating habit of mind to set the course for upcoming adventures such as Earth Week, Plastics to Fuel Machine research opportunities, a sustainable curriculum certificate, Solar PV system and more! Special guest retired Cabrillo faculty member, Sue Holt, will describe the process and findings of the Santa Cruz Water Supply Advisory Committee which has been using every habit of mind known to humanity to provide recommendations for a sustainable water supply for a large portion of our community. How can we help each other become the teachers our students and our planet need us to be? Sustainability encompasses the social, economic and environmental aspects of global citizenship. Learn what we are doing right at Cabrillo, and how we keep faculty and students aware and involved in Cabrillo’s progress toward sustainability, so we can act locally together. We’ll share information and resources from our Engaged Interdisciplinary Learning for Sustainability grant, and launch a Sustainable Curriculum Working Group.
